But before I lay down our list let me first discuss the etymology of our club's name "SOROPTIMIST".
The word SOROPTIMIST came from two Latin words "SOROR" and "OPTIMA".The latter means "SISTER" and the former means "BEST". So if we derive the meaning of Soroptimist from it's etymology this would mean "Best Sister". And indeed, every Soroptimist serves as a best sister for all of us. Currently, the Soroptimist organization,adopted the tag line "Best for Women" .
